Planning Travel Arrangements for Our Wedding

We recognized and appreciated that a majority of our guests would have to travel quite some distance to attend our wedding. So we put together this informational page to hopefully make planning their journey easy and fun!

Flights

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is a major hub for US Airways. Other airlines typically offer connecting flights from their respective hubs.

Alternate: Cleveland International Airport (CLE) if you prefer Southwest Airlines or have a more attractive connection. Cleveland is approximately 140 miles (2.5 hours) from Pittsburgh.

Note: For those traveling on American Airlines, we've arranged a 10% group discount. Research fares online, and then call (800) 433-1790 and book the reservation. Just mention "Star File #5654AD" for the discount.

Hotels

We have blocked rooms in three hotels for your convenience.

1) The Westin Convention Center Hotel
Request the "Catalina-Stauffer Wedding" rate for discounted $89 rooms. Pass on the valet parking ($22/day) for the nearby parking garages ($5/day) instead... and don't forget those oh-so "Heavenly" beds! The hotel is centrally located in downtown Pittsburgh. 2) The Hampton Inn University Center
The "Stauffer-Catalina Wedding" rate also gets you an $89 room, but this rate includes a continental breakfast and free parking. This hotel is closest to the reception at Carnegie. A limited shuttle service is also available. Click here for more info, or call (412) 681-1000 to make reservations.

3) The Hampton Inn Cranberry The "Stauffer-Catalina Wedding" rate is $84 and also includes parking & continental breakfast. This hotel is closest to the wedding ceremony in Mars. Click here for more info, or call (724) 776-1000 to make reservations.

Car Rental

If you're flying into town, we highly recommend renting a car and sharing among 3 or 4 guests. We invite you to search around for the lowest fares, but we've negotiated special weekend/holiday rates with Enterprise and Hertz. The Enterprise coupon gives you 50% off corporate rates (a pretty sweet offer), while Hertz gives a special rate of $25.99/day for a Compact 4DR. Please email us for the codes.

What can yunz do in the 'burgh?

Why not take full advantage of the three-day holiday weekend, and make a vacation out of your trip! Watch the Pirates play ball in the beautiful new PNC Park. (They're in town playing our Cubbies that weekend!) Head over to Station Square for shopping, dining, a cruise on the Gateway Clipper, or a ride up to Mount Washington on the Duquesne Incline. Stroll among fine works of art or relics from our history at the Carnegie or Andy Warhol Museums. And don't forget to enjoy both the markets and the nightlife in the Strip District.

Got more time to kill? Cleveland is 2.5 hours away, Niagara Falls is just a 3.5 hour drive, and another hour and a half will get you to Toronto, Canada.
